It's been a great start to the new year adjusting to having a newborn at home. Baby Alyssa has been an angel so far. Lauren has adjusted well to having a baby sister at home and understands mom needs to spend more time with the baby. Here are some current pictures to share:

An Early Christmas Present for the Yee's

Santa made an early Christmas delivery to the Yee's on Christmas Eve. At 4 AM on the 24th, Alyssa Grace Yee was born, making the Yee's a family of four. Alyssa weighed in at 5 lbs. 15 oz. and measured 20 inches long. Labor was a "quick" 6 hours for mom, who is doing well and home enjoying 2 helpings of In-N-Out burger. Lauren is taking being a big sister in stride...learning to share her time with Mom and Dad with baby Alyssa. We're thankful for all the help we're receiving from grandparents, family, and friends. Thank you to everyone for your well-wishes, thoughts, and prayers.

Alyssa... That is the chosen name if #2 ever arrives. Her official due date is January 3rd, but we're prepared for an early delivery. Cindy has been on maternity leave for 1.5 weeks now, keeping well-rested and getting the house in order. Lauren seems to be aware of the impending arrival of a new person to boss around, but nothing can ever fully prepare you for a brand new baby. Happy Holidays to everyone! We'll keep you posted on any further news.

Lauren celebrated her second birthday on November 11th at the happiest place on earth--Disneyland! Thank you to the Marini's, the Jew's, Auntie Jody, Uncle Frank, and Auntie Jennifer for coming along for the festivities.

In late May through early June, we took a highly-anticipated trip to New York, Paris, and London. We set sailed for home on board the amazing Queen Mary 2. Europe and the QM2 was a first for all of us and we can't wait to go back! We also found out the exciting news that Lauren will be a big sister in January 2008.

Lauren was privileged with the honor of being Uncle Frank and Auntie Jody's flower girl, unfortunately, she didn't quite make it down the aisle. Nonetheless, she had a great time!

Caribbean Cruise and WDW 2007

In January, the Yee's were joined by Uncle Ron, Auntie Mel, and cousin Amanda for a fun-filled week cruising the Caribbean and hanging out with Mickey and Friends at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The weather was amazing and the girls were on their best behaviors!

L is growing up right before our eyes. Its been so amazing to see her transform from a little tiny blob to a super-absorbent sponge! She's found a new interest in a stationary walker, storytime, and blowing bubbles!

We can't believe its already the end of February and Cindy is headed back to work part-time for the next month. L is 3 months old and is starting to stare intently at everything and grasp objects. Thanks to all the friends and family that came to visit during their Thanksgiving holiday. Lauren had a blast taking pictures with all of you! She's been growing by leaps and bounds these past three weeks...we can't believe how much her cheeks are starting to puff out. She'll probably move on from newborn diapers to Stage 1's by next week. Ah--the joys of parenting!

With the weather clearing up, Lauren ventured out today with Grandparents in tow for her first 'dim sum' experience. All the push-cart ladies had to come by and sneak their peaks at Lauren, but she insisted on sleeping through most of the meal.

Baby's First Thanksgiving

With all the excitement of the birth and homecoming, we decided to pass on the Thanksgiving festivities this year. Thanks to Uncle Frank and Aunt Jody, we still managed to enjoy an entire Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings and not one, but TWO kinds of stuffings and pies! We definitely have many blessings to be thankful for this year: an uneventful pregnancy, a healthy and happy new baby, and many thoughtful family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

We are Pleased to Announce...

the arrival of Lauren Mae Yee, on November 11, 2005 at 7:54 PM, weighing in at 6 lbs., 8 oz. and measuring 21 inches long. Cindy's water broke at 6 AM on Friday, and contractions begun shortly thereafter. After a full afternoon of waiting around and pushing for about 30 minutes, Baby Lauren finally arrived into the arms of her proud parents. As all new parents will tell you, she is absolutely the most beautiful baby in the world!

After avoiding the birth certificate lady for two days, we finally picked out a middle name for Lauren. We decided on "Mae" which is a family name used in the Yee family, with a slight variation in the spelling (in honor of Great-Grandpa Yee). We were given the green light this morning from the doctor and made a beeline home. Pictures will be added as soon as Dad can get them uploaded from the camera. Thanks everyone for all the warm wishes, advice, and loving thoughts for our new family of three.

After some prodding by very well-meaning (and experienced) people, we finally have the bags packed for the hospital. Standing by the door didn't make the UPS man arrive any faster, but the car seat eventually came this week too. After an exhausting day of more "nesting" by Cindy, we are able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that when its time to make the big rush to the hospital, we'll be ready!

Baby L also gave her expecting parents a nice opportunity to celebrate their 4th wedding anniversary today. Its nice to know she's already got her time-management skills down.

After 8 1/2 months of pairing every name in "The Best Baby Name Book" with our last name, we finally decided on the name Lauren over a salad and a root beer. It was actually very simple: Cindy named her top three choices, and Steve picked one. Compromise at its finest! We can only hope now that baby girl Yee is actually a baby girl...but that's just a minor detail. Time to get to work on that middle name.
